Bored during the Summer? Try these apps!

Posted June 1, 2013

We had an enlightening "Learn to Discover" hands-on session yesterday.  The students used laptops and tablets to design a robot to rescue a person from the water.
They used Google Sketch Up which may be downloaded for free.  Below is a tutorial.
I think the students might enjoy creating their "dream house" this summer using this CAD technology!

Another fun and educational app is BridgeBasher which is a $0.99 download for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Yesterday, we also viewed a lesson from Legospace.com .  There are plenty of interesting activities to explore on this site.

Toontastic is a story building cartoon making free app for iPads.  We should have used this last year!  Try it this summer!

Playtime Theater is also a fun app.  You can insert pictures onto characters, but it doesn't allow animation like Toontastic.

Storylines is like the game of "telephone" with pictures.

I KNOW you'll enjoy the "Verb Rap"

It's the sequel to the "Nouns" music video

Adjective Rap

Pronoun Blues
